MR & MRS G.M. NUNN
1892B/W Print of George Nunn and his wife. She is wearing a striped pinafore with light sash over a high necked, light blouse with leg-o-mutton sleeves. Her dark hair is partly concealed by a large mob cap/sun hat. Her husband is standing behind her in shirt and dark trousers. He is looking over her shoulder and has his arm around her. There is a rough barked tree beside them and a wooded slope in the background. In the bottom left corner is [HG?/1896.]. Handwritten in ink on the rear is [Mr & Mrs G.M. Nunn/ about 1892].
George Nunn Snr, arrived from NSW together with his close friend & fellow surveyor, Alfred Middleton, on the ship 'Tekapo' in the 1890s. George and his wife Alice lived at 28 Victoria Ave, Claremont, on the corner of Jetty Road. The house was later demolished (date unknown). Their children were George, Harry, Tessie, Wally, Grace and Peggy. George and his wife later lived at 49 Waratah Rd Nedlands. Former Claremont Town Councillor. Photo is believed to have been taken during Mr & Mrs G.M. Nunn's honeymoon. They eloped from Sydney in 1892.
