The woman is also wearing a dark scarf or close fitting hat and dark pointed low-heeled strap shoes. Next to her is a man in a 3-piece suit, light shirt with short stand-up collar, tie, light coloured hat with lighter band around crown, and dark shoes or boots. Bertha Bicker, the woman third from the left, is wearing a 2-piece bathing suit which has no sleeves, a light vest, skirt and shorts, and darker trim around the neck, sleeves and at the waist. This bathing suit comes to the knees. The woman is wearing a light-coloured scarf or close-fitting hat, and light-coloured sandshoes. On the right is a young man in dark trousers, braces, light collarless long sleeved shirt, and no shoes. The pier is wide and no ocean or beach are visible. There is a power pole and trees in the background,

Historical information

Photographer, Norman Bicker came from Hull, UK to Sydney then to Western Austalia in 1923 to set up branch of Reckitt's Headquarters in the Lionel Samson & Sons Building, Cliff Street, Fremantle WA. Norman lived at 7 Bindaring Parade 1923-35. Opened Leonard's Shoe Store in 1953 on Stirling Highway, Mosman Park WA. Married to Bertha in 1914 or 1915 in England. Father of Aubrey and Ray.
