Overview

The Koeppe Family in HG Stirling's garden. A young woman, Dora Koeppe, in dark skirt, light blouse with leg-o-mutton sleeves and boater hat, is standing behind a slatted garden seat. Next to her is Mr FW Koeppe in dark jacket, light shirt and straw hat. Seated in front of him is his wife, EE Koeppe. Her mother, Mrs C McLord, in light outfit with dark trim and a flower trimmed hat, has a small child, at her feet. Furthest right, in a dark skirt and light blouse is ME Stirling. Behind the group is a row of palms, a close picket fence and a wooden building. In the foreground are garden beds and a path.

Historical information

Leura Avenue did not exist at time the photograph was taken, but HG Stirling's home was in vicinity of where Leura Avenue was later put through to join the Claremont Avenue. Leura Avenue was realigned in the late 1980s. Claremont Avenue was the section of the Perth-Fremantle Road that passed through Claremont. The Perth-Fremantle Road was renamed Stirling Highway in 1932 after the first Governor of Western Australia, Admiral Sir James Stirling
