MINCER, MEAT
c. 1925The body of the mincer comprises a funnel shaped open bowl into which fresh or cooked meat, and occasionally other foodstuffs, were placed, as well as a tube at the base of the bowl through which the mincing screw passes. The tube has apertures in front as well as an additional wheel shaped part attached to its front. A handle is attached to back of screw. When this is turned by hand the screw revolves cutting up the food and forcing it through the holes. A stand is attached below the mincer with an adjustable screw to clamp it to a table or bench. This mincer was made in England and was called 'Beatrice'. It was used in the Lipfert home at 270 York Street, Subiaco.
