BEATER, LIPFERT FAMILY
c. 1930Egg beater comes from the Lipfert home at 270 York Street, Subiaco. At top is stirrup type handle with wooden grip. At side of beater is a turning handle, also with wooden grip, which turns a rotating gear which has around its circumference small dome shaped knobs. These interlock as the gear rotates with shallow indentations at the heads of the 2 beaters. Each beater has 4 flat metal blades, which expand towards the base into a bulb shape. Each beater has a central shaft of fine tubular metal. Around the circular gear is imprinted: 'Swift Whip. Patent Ball-drive. Propert Product. Made in Australia'.
