WWI patriotic metal hopping kangaroo
c. 1915 - 1920WWI era patriotic cast metal kangaroo with rocker legs attached to a solid body. When placed on the correct incline, the kangaroo hops down the surface. The arms of the kangaroo act to balance the kangaroo when it is moving.
The kangaroo has been cast in two halves and then joined. The metal is lightly grooved and painted brown to resemble fur. It has a red, white and blue ribbon tied around its neck - the colours of the Empire.
This little kangaroo would have delighted children and adults alike, and is still doing so over a century later.
