Overview

World War Two era Royal Air Force gold tone sweetheart brooch with pale blue enamel detailing.
It features outspread pilot wings with pale blue enamel flanking a solid central wreath containing the letters 'RAF', surmounted by a King's Crown with red enamel detailing.
The reverse of the brooch is plain although there may be a maker's or metal mark at the centre bottom. If so, it has worn away over time and is illegible.
It has a pin clasp for attachment.

Historical information

This sweetheart brooch is one of many produced and sold to servicemen to give to their loved ones during wartime.
