PHOTOGRAPH: SUBIACO COUNCIL CHAMBERS 1960
1960The black and white photo shows the brick Council Chambers building in Rokeby Road, with two arched windows on each side of a door in an arched frame.
Notice boards have been set into the pillars on either side of the doorway. The left-hand side reads 'Notice. Ratepayers. Council Meetings are held on alternate Tuesdays at 7.30pm. Next Meeting '. The notice on the right reads 'City of Subiaco Offices. Office hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm'
There is a decorative gable above the door, and the roof features a design of two small pillars connected by a small wall that reflects the line of the doorway.
There is a utility van parked against the kerb immediately in front of the building. Part of the Subiaco Primary School can be seen in the background at the right. Museum holds copy of original photo only.
The council chambers were demolished in 1971 (Spillman 1985 pp. 306, 307)
