c. 1900A tan leather needlecase with metal clasp and sets of needles.
This tan coloured fish leather needlecase with metal clasp, opens like a book and each side contains two rectangular deer hide compartments with sets, almost intact, of sewing needles. Printed on the front of each compartments are 'Superior Sewing Needles’ and a label for each set - 5, 6, 7, 8, Rug 20-22, Crewel 5/9, Darners 5/9, G.Downs 5/9 and Chenille 20-22. The needles have gold eyes. Purchased in England pre WWI.
