LAMP: KEROSENE, ALADDIN, METAL AND GLASS
Kerosene lamp with brassy coloured fount, 'ALADDIN IA' stamped on its ventilated 'waist'. Its tubular chimney bears a printed sticker: 'Pyrex Aladdin Made in Australia'. The cowl is painted black. A mantle (missing) is attached to the small combustion chamber just below when the lamp is in use. The fount holds kerosene and the small well at its middle is filled with methylated spirits which primes the lamp when ignited. Light is given by the incandescent mantle (missing) just below the cowl. The lamp is suspended from a handle made from a single piece of thick wire, twisted to form a loop at the top to hang from a hook or nail if necessary.
