Overview

Western Australian Brewers baseball cap c.1984 made of black synthetic fabric. Three equally-spaced horizonal rows of yellow synthetic cord encircle the side of the crown. A button covered in yellow synthetic fabric tops the cap. At the back of the hat is a black plastic adjustable strap. Pinned to the front of the crown with a gold-coloured metal kangaroo stick pin, is a black cloth badge with an embroidered stylised yellow swan. Various national and international metal badges are pinned to the sides of the crown and a 'G'day from WA' badge is pinned to the back.

Historical information

In the 1980s the Brewers was a Western Australian baseball team that represented the State in the Claxton Shield Series, an Australian national tournament, which they won in 1985.

Contextual Information

The cap was donated by Paul Tye, who was the Executive Officer of the Brewers team. The style of the cap is based on the American Pittsburg Pirates' cap.
