LACE, NEEDLELACE, ALENCON, EDGING
Handmade laces, needle and bobbin, were an important fashion accessory from the 16th century until the early 20th century and in high demand.
This delicate handmade wide edging from Flanders, late 19th century, comprises two types of lace, a needlerun embroidery on a cotton net, similar to Limerick lace for 90mm, and an edging 10 mm of rare Alencon needlelace.
