BUTTERLY, MRS
Sepia studio photo of elderly lady on card. Style has been hand painted (edges and outlines etc).
Mrs Butterly is looking directly at the camera sitting in a a large cane chair. Her left hand holds a book and is resting atop a round three legged occassional table covered with a tassled table cloth. There is a vase filled with flowers and a photograph of a man on the table.
Mrs Butterlys' hair is covered with a white cap. She is wearing a long sleeved, full length black gown that appears to be two pieces, consisting of a skirt and top, with either a white undershirt or collar. There appears to be a brooch pinned to the throat of her bodice.
The bodice has many small buttons down the front. The skirt appears to have three layers around the bottom trimmed with ribbon.
