A sepia photograph of Lucy Butterly standing between the curtain drapes.
Her right arm is extended to one of them and she is looking slightly to the left.
Her dress is formal, has a high neck and long sleeves with lace inserts in the bodice, around the hipline and sleeve.
The lace pattern is of heart shapes and the waist line very pinched in.
A bracelet is around her left wrist.
Lucy could be aged between 15 and 25 years.

Historical information

Lucy (1871 - 1954) was the youngest child of James and Catherine Butterly, of The Byeen, north of Toodyay.
