Overview

Antique book entitled 'Heroes of the Flying Corps: a description of the work of the airmen during the early stages of the war' by Claude Grahame-White and Harry Harper. It has colourful cover and spine illustrations on a green cloth background. The cover shows two airmen in dress uniform consulting a map.
The text on the cover is gold. There are six colour plate illustrations inside by the artist, Cyrus Cuneo.There are sixteen pages of publisher's advertisements for the series 'Books for Boys' which this title is a part of.
The publisher's name appears at the bottom of the spine.

Historical information

The book was written for children with a keen interest in planes and aerial warfare. It concerns the use of aircraft during 1915 and the first nine months of the First World War

Claude Grahame-White is remembered as an early aviation pioneer who both flew and designed planes, including the boxkite.
