GENERAL EMBROIDERY, APRON
c. 1930A beautifully embroidered lady’s calico apron from the late 1920s to 1930s. A great amount of work on a day to day apron. Stamped patterns on calico aprons were prevalent at this time and very popular for ladies to embroider. Ordered from Women’s magazines and catalogues.
The design is a smartly attired lady in a green dress and hat wearing high heeled shoes from the 1930s standing on her garden path next to a sleek red and grey car – areas worked in rows of stem stitch.
Hair and facial features excellently worked.
Apron has a crochet edging as do the two pockets. Unfinished as not straps to tie around the waist.
