POSTCARDS: CITY OF SUBIACO ARMORIAL BEARINGS

Overview

a,b+c) Three identical City of Subiaco postcards featuring the Armorial Bearings of the City on the front in colour of a monk with a spade on one side and a railway worker with a sledgehammer on the other, each with a hand on a shield divided into three by two wavy lines. The top third features two tents with a book between, the middle third has two staffs with a snake twined around with a long necked tortoise between, the the lower third has a tent. The shield is crowned by a swimming swan hoding an olive branch, above a helmet with green and gold mantling. Beneath this is a badge with white dove with olive branch flying above an olive tree all surrounded by masonry blocks. The reverse has a full interpretation of the Armorial Bearings on the left hand side. The right hand side has lines for an address, a rectangle in the top right hand side has 'Western Australia' and 'STAMP' printed in it. The bottom right hand side has 'POSTCARD'.
