MEDAL: WORLD WAR II WAR SERVICE MEDAL WITH RIBBON, ENVELOPE

c. 1950
Overview

a) Silver coloured medal with fixture at top with double bar for ribbon to slide though. Obverse shows '1939 / 1945' at top RH side, in the centre is a lion standing victorious on top of a gryphon. Reverse has head of King George VI with 'GEORGIVS VI G.BR..OMN. REX ET INDIAE IMP.' around the perimiter. The edge is smooth and has 'S10225 G.T. DADOUR' impressed into it. On LH side centre is 'E CoP' in very small letters.
The ribbon has a thin red line in the middle with thin white stripes either side, then wider blue stripes, and then red stripes on the edges.
b) the small envelope is bluff coloured with the flap torn off, it is stained, torn and creased. It has in pencilat the top 'A.E.' which has been crossed out, and G T DADOUR. There is also printed in the centre 'No. 2056'.
