Overview

A) Silver metal medal with obverse portraying stylised version of the Commonwealth Coat of Arms and 'THE AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE MEDAL' around the perimiter. The reverse portrays a wreath with St Edward's Crown at the top centre and 'For Service' in the centre. The edge is smooth and bears the inscription 'S10225 G.T. DADOUR'. There is a ring attached to the top and a red, white and black ribbon threaded through which has a white metal pin.
B) Miniature of the above but without the inscription on the edge.
C) Bar of the ribbon with twoyellow metal butterfly clips on the reverse for attaching to jacket.
D) Extra ribbon for miniature. (?)
E) Extra ribbon for medal.
F) Small white card with black printing. There is the Australian Commonwealth Coat of Arms in the L top corner and 'Australian Government / Department of Defence / Australian Defence Medal'. There is a description of those who are entitled to this medal on the front and a description of the medal on the reverse.
G) Black imitation leather spring lidded box with lid lined in white satin and the back black velvetmoulded to enable the medals and bar to fit in. The top of the box has 'THE / AUSTRALIAN / DEFENCE MEDAL' in silver print.
H) White card sleeve into which the box slides. A white sticker on the top LH corner states 'S10225 / G T DADOUR / NAVY 74/08'. Along the left hand side of the sleeve is 'THE AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE MEDAL'.
I) Letter to Mr G T Dadour from the Directorate of Honours and Awards on Australian Government Department of Defence letterhead which accompanied The Australian Defence Medal.
