DRAWN THREAD, CLOTH
c. 1990 - 1999An exquisite example of drawn thread work by a member of the Guild.
A large mat of cream evenweave linen has sixteen squares of pulled thread forming the design with a centre square of a large flower of satin stitch and eyelets.
Squares are separated by bands of drawn thread oversewn with the same flower design as in the squares, formed by weaving. Whipped stitch is used on the drawn threads. It has a scalloped border of pulled thread with eyelets and buttonhole.
