KNOTTING, MAT

A fine example of knotted lace, with a variety of woven patterns.

This rectangle knotted mat has three woven 8 petalled flower in centre with raised woven stamens.
Each flower is surrounded by a band of Dove’s eye stitching in the knotted squares. Then a band of cloth stitch around which are daisy flowers arranged in a ‘V’ shape. The square scalloped edge has parallel lines of woven cloth stitch.
