Overview

This folio was presented as one part of an embroidery Intermediate Proficiency Certificate in Needlepainting with the Embroiderers’ Guild of WA in 1993. This folio, presented by Guild member, Doris, who was a Group Leader, teacher and judge with the Guild for many years.

The folio on the technique, contains information on the following.

History of Needlepainting; Points of Interest from historical pieces; equipment; examples of fabrics, threads and worked stitches and explanation of where used; design source and artwork for final pieces; bibliography. Also included is one finished piece, portrait of Doris’ mother, and photos of two other pieces – West Australian orchid and a sea scene. Comments by judge awarding the certificate.
