Overview

The sepia photograph features eighteen men grouped on the grass in front of the wall of a building, with a window with a broken pane. The back row is standing, middle row kneeling on one knee, two men in front lying on their sides. The men are wearing suits with chains across the waistcoat, shirts and ties and/or scarves and hats of various styles. Only two appear to be in a uniform featuring a cap with a metal tag on the front above the visor. Mr T.A. Dudley, kneeling in second row, holds a small black dog.
