In this sepia photograph Florence Blading is sitting with Norma and Mabel standing to her right. Norma is wearing a nurse's costume and looking at a box in her hands. Mabel is wearing a short dress, glasses, long socks and boots, with a large bow in her hair.
The group is seated in a garden, in front of a wooden picket fence.
On the reverse is a handwritten inscription which reads 'From Voluntary Worker No.194 Snapshots from Home League'.

Historical information

Taken in 1918, the photo reveals some of the experience of women and children left at home during the First World War.
The photograph may have been taken in the Balding family garden at 30 Herbert Road, Subiaco.
