Historical information

James Daskein was born in Victoria. He was the Hampden Shire Engineer for over twenty years, designing the Camperdown Botanic Gardens and Arboretum Gate Lodge in 1880.

James was a WA Chief Engineer of the Road and Bridges Department and a former Town of Claremont Councillor from 1899-1902.

Lived at 29 Riley Road (Named Camperdown Lodge after where he lived in Victoria) with his wife Isobella Mickle whom he married in Victoria in 1869.

Children: Mary and James. Died in 25.11.1905 in New South Wales.
