Sepia studio portrait of Jo Sharkey. Her hair is drawn back into a soft roll and she is wearing academic dress. The black gown is worn over a light, patterned frock and the moire-lined hood is edged with white fur. On the mount, below the image is written [Bardwell Clarke] and on the rear is [Jo Sharkey] and photographers' notes.

Historical information

Edith Josephine (Jo), born in Claremont, was the edest daughter of Raymond and Edith Florence Sharkey. Taught at PLC studied languages at the Sorbonne in France.
