'The White House'

A sepia photograph of a federation style single level brick and tile house. The house is surrounded by a stone fence. Outside the front of the house is a car with a man sitting in the car. There is a young boy sitting on a horse in the yard of house and an older man holding the horse. There is a woman and a man on the verandah of the house. The road at the front of the house is dirt.

Historical information

This house was the home of Alex Thomson. 'The White House' was a land mark dwelling built by Thomson during his time as a Member of Parliament for the district. It was used as residential accommodation, divided into flats c1940s-1960. It became a Function centre from c1969 known as 'Kimberley Lodge'. The street address 172 Clive Street.
