SHARKEY COLLECTION - MAIDA'S WEDDING PHOTO
1932B/W Studio portrait of Maida Sharkey in a full length, short- sleeved wedding dress. Her veil, which is extended to become a train, is secured by a a simple, floral band and she is wearing a single strand necklace and satin shoes. She is holding a large bouquet featuring lilies. The image is printed on cream card and outlined in grey. Beneath the image is written [C S. Bardwell Clarke] and embossed [SHEFFIELD HOUSE/ PERTH]. The print is partially covered by embossed tissue and enclosed in a folder of light brown card with a brown and gold sticker on the cover.
Maida Winsome Sharkey was born in Claremont in December 1905 and was the daughter of Raymond and Edith Florence Sharkey of Wainomi, 3 Victoria Avenue. Maida married John Lefroy in 1932.
