Overview

B/W Studio portrait of Maida Sharkey in a full length, short- sleeved wedding dress. Her veil, which is extended to become a train, is secured by a a simple, floral band and she is wearing a single strand necklace and satin shoes. She is holding a large bouquet featuring lilies. The image is printed on cream card and outlined in grey. Beneath the image is written [C S. Bardwell Clarke] and embossed [SHEFFIELD HOUSE/ PERTH]. The print is partially covered by embossed tissue and enclosed in a folder of light brown card with a brown and gold sticker on the cover.

Historical information

Maida Winsome Sharkey was born in Claremont in December 1905 and was the daughter of Raymond and Edith Florence Sharkey of Wainomi, 3 Victoria Avenue. Maida married John Lefroy in 1932.
