Overview

Studio portrait of Maida Sharkey in a full length, short sleeved wedding dress. Her veil, which is extended to become a train, is secured by a a simple, floral band and she is wearing a single strand necklace and satin shoes. She is holding a large bouquet featuring lilies.

The image is printed on cream card and outlined in grey. The print is partially covered by embossed tissue and enclosed in a folder of light brown card with a brown and gold sticker on the cover.

Historical information

Maida Winsome Sharkey (1906-1997) was the daughter of Raymond John and Florence Edith Sharkey.

Lived at 'Wainomi', 3 Victoria Avenue, Claremont.

Attended Methodist Ladies College, Claremont

Married John Lefroy (1905-1998) son of William Gerald and Ada Lefroy in 1931. The couple lived in Merredin and then moved to 16 Reserve Street, Claremont in 1938.

Raymond John Sharkey an architect, surveyor and amateur photographer was born in 1868 in New South Wales. Raymond was a Claremont resident when he died at an early age.
