Overview

Fanny Rider with up swept hair, wearing a long, long-sleeved, patterned dress with sash and plain cuffs and deep collar, standing on the path beside three steps leading to the front verandah of a brick house.

There is a deck chair on the verandah, which has a decorative post and bracket, rough grass on either side of the path, a tap, and a shrub beside the two sash windows of the projecting room.

Historical information

Fanny (or Fannie) Theresa Morris (1860-1926) daughter of Benjamin Charles and Elizabeth Morris nee Britcher was born in Sydney.

Married Bernard Daniel Rider in 1882 at Surry Hills, New South Wales.

Moved to Western Australia c.1903. Lived at 'Na Valli' 21 Bernard Street, Claremont.

Bernard and Fanny had four children Dudley (1887-1936), Stanley (1890-1891), Herbert (1882-1895) and Hilda (1884-1966).
