Overview

Colour print. Two-storeyed Furniss Building with wide balustraded balcony above shops on Bay View Terrace. On the left is a double windowed gift shop with sign above it [Joseph Pavlinovich/GIFT EMPORIUM]. On the right is a radio shop, on the window [WE'RE MOVING/AGAIN!/TO NO 14/Next door to Freecorns]. Between these two shops is [ALAN R. DAVIS/DENTAL SURGEON] painted on a door leading to consulting rooms above. To the right is a high brick wall and a modern brick building with wide, light coloured facia.

Historical information

Mr W.A Furniss originally owned the Furniss Building beginning in 1927. Original numbers were 41- 43However, by 1936, The numbers changed so that the botto northorn shop was 41, the upstaris surgery and room were 43 and the bottom southern shop and living quarters were 45. The building was then owned by Maxime Philip Oberman. The building was demolished in 1973.
