Front: The photograph features No.6 Tram with young men and a man in uniform (ticket collector?) hanging off the back.The tram is being followed by a car, participants on bicycles and a dog. The street is lined with spectators on either side.
The tower of the Subiaco Hotel is visible on the west side of the street, as well as the Commercial Bank of Australia Limited and the Real Estate Agency of L.J. Wearne.
Reverse: Handwritten note: 'In 1900 Perth Tramway was extended along Hay Street and Rokeby Road to the King's Park gates. 1st penny section (and for over twenty years) but only penny section on the metropolitan tramway was in Subiaco between Rokeby Road and Hay Street Junction and King's Park gates.'
