Overview

A card cover for a 45 RPM vinyl single record. The cover has a photograph of the yacht Australia II on the front in a blue hued print. At the top of the front is [Australia II] in yellow ink, with the words [SOUVENIR SINGLE] in white print on a black circle, with a yellow border, printed at the top right of the cover. Towards the bottom right of the square is the makers mark [Jingle Factory].

The back cover is coloured light blue, with a square photo of the yacht Australia II in the centre. Production information is printed in black ink at the bottom of the rear cover.

Historical information

On the 26th of September 1983, off the coast of Rhode Island USA, the yacht Australia II crossed the finish line to win the America's Cup. In the best of seven races, Australia II was 1-3 down after the first four races. In the final race Australia II came from behind to win 4-3. It was the first America's Cup race in 132 years that a country other then the USA won. This recording is of the official theme song for the 1983 challenge, used to raise money and awareness for the America's Cup challenge.
