Overview

An orange coloured plastic doll with moveable arms and legs and blue eyes. It is wearing pink shorts with a flower motif and bright pink binding around the legs, with a white short sleeve top with pink stitching and bright pink binding around the neck and chest. It has a velcro strip down the centre of the back.

Historical information

This item was acquired from the Armadale Aquatic Centre before renovations were started in 2017. The Centre was opened in December 1980. It was used as part of the swimming training program at the Aquatic Centre. It would be thrown into the pool and students would have to dive to retrieve it.

This collection of items was used at the Armadale Aquatic Centre. The Armadale Aquatic Centre was opened in December 1980 and was closed in 2017 to make way for the new Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre which was opened in 2019. There items were collected as they represent the important role played in the social life of the local community and what was involved for a local government in running a public pool.
