Overview

A circular copper coloured disc with text on one side, the reverse face has worn away. Picture on the disc of a swimmer enclosed in a circle, surrounded by text; [ADMIT ONE ADULT] and raised dots.

Historical information

The token was removed from the Armadale Aquatic Centre before renovations were started in 2017. The Centre was originally opened in December 1980.

Statement of significance

MEDIUM
This collection of items was used at the Armadale Aquatic Centre. The Aquatic centre was opened in December 1980 and was closed in 2017 to make way for the new Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre which was opened in 2019. There items were collected as they represent the important role played in the social life of the local community and what was involved for a local government in running a public pool.
