BEADWORK BAG
Small neat flat beaded bag, made in Czechoslovakia, was worn with the beaded flapper dresses of the 1920/30s.
Silver and white seed beads hand stitched in lattice-like pattern on the bag and flap. Cream, silky cotton lining.
Two metal press studs secure the flap. A rolled fabric beaded handle.
Beadwork reached its height of popularity in 1920s and 1930s when beads adorned clothing, furnishings and accessories. Floral designs gave way to more abstract and modern patterns.
