BEADWORK, BAG
A charming hand beaded lady’s evening bag used by Guild Member at social functions in 1940s. Unusual heavily beaded design top on front and hand beaded handle.
This fan-shaped is made of cream silk, with different design front and back.
The geometric design on the front has semi-circular lines, circles and rows of white and bronze glass seed beads.
The top of the bag, set on a metal frame with a twist knob closing, is more densely beaded.
The back of the bag has a simpler design of squiggly flowing lines of white seed beads.
Silk lining with a small pocket containing a mirror.
The fabric handle is hand beaded with white and bronze beads.
