Overview

With the invention of plastics in mid 20th C, there emerged a huge variety of uses, including as plastic beads.

This fashionable lady’s handbag was purchased in Melbourne in 1950s by Life Member, Joyce Taylor.

Tiny black and white plastic tubular beads are randomly scattered and glued over the front and back.

Black leather like oval gusset base 70mm wide.

Metal frame. Handle missing. Metal ring on each side to accommodate possibly a chain handle.

Inside label states “Clipper Model, K.E. Munro, Melbourne, Beaded plastic”
