BEADWORK, BAG
Beaded evening bags were a popular lady’s fashion accessory in 1950s, a revival of the beaded bags of the 1920s and 1930s. This bag, hand-stitched with pale green beads and sequins in a clear uncluttered design, shows a contemporary development from the more elaborate designs of the 1920s and 1930s.which were worked in white, bronze, gold beads. [See items #2000.295 and #2000.297].
Beadwork on pale green silk satin fabric and lined with same. Gilded metal frame has a gilded twist knob fastening. A gilded metal chain handle is attached to one side of the opening.
Machine embroidered label inside states: “Hand Made JEM Made in Hong Kong”.
