Overview

A sepia coloured photo of four generations of the Twine family wearing traditional late 19th or early 20th century attire.
Three men, two seated and one standing are dressed in three piece suits with high collared shirts and bow ties - two with black ties and one with a white tie.
Held on the left knee of the youngest of the men is a baby dressed in a frock.
There is damage to top right hand corner and slightly at the lower edge.

Historical information

It is believed (based on other photographs in the museum collection) that the person standing at the rear is James Allen Twine.
If this is so, then the other individuals in the photo could represent his direct descendants: Seated on the right: His son, Henry James Twine (1841–1913). Seated on the left: His grandson, Ernest Edward Twine (1871–1945).The Baby: His great-grandson, Ernest James Twine (born c. 1894–1895). However this is speculation at this stage.
