The Eastern Railways narrow gauge spur line between Toodyay and Clackline was completed in 1887.
The Ringa railway bridge was built as a part of the infrastructure for this line and was in use until the line closed in 1966.
It was replaced by the new standard gauge line that was built along a new route through the Avon Valley directly linking Toodyay to Perth.
