Historical information

The item was acquired from the Armadale Aquatic Centre before renovations were started in 2017. The Centre was opened in December 1980. The sign promoted the Armadale Water Walkers who ran exercise sessions for its members at the Armadale Aquatic Centre on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-9am.

This collection of items was used at the Armadale Aquatic Centre. The Centre was opened in December 1980 and was closed in 2017 to make way for the new Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre which was opened in 2019. These items were collected as they represent the important role played in the social life of the local community and what was involved for a local government in running a public pool.
