First World War Black and White Photograph of Jewish Village of Deiran

1917 - 1916
Overview

A black and white photograph showing a small village. The image shows a number of what appear to be brick-built houses with houses with tiled roofs. The houses sit among trees, and the land has what appears to be grass growing. Beyond the village and in the foreground, the terrain is very stony with only a few plants growing. The land is very flat. The image has a white border and there is some discoloration on the left side. The reverse of the image has the proforma printing of part of a postcard and an inscription in black ink that is partially faded.
