Overview

The black and white photograph features a Metters' Basket grate, which is very ornate with scrolls or bosses on either side and at its back. It is set in a tiled open hearth and surrounded by a wooden mantel, which features spindles, corbels and shelves, as well as two mirrors. The larger of the two mirrors is circular and placed right at the top. In front of the grate is a set of fire tools in brackets. There is an ornate metal border enclosing the tiled area at the front. This photograph would have been used to advertise Metters' products in magazines or newspapers, leaflets etc.
