Black and white photograph of Metters' wool press: a contraption comprising two boxes above one another. The flap of the wool sack is shown hanging over the side of the lower box and the levers with which the wool is compacted appear on either side. The lower portion is outlined in white for the purpose of the advertisement in which the photograph appeared. This would have been used in promotional leaflets, magazines and newspapers.
