Receipt for forage supplies to Greenough Police Station
1865hand-written note on grey paper
Thomas Walsh (1811-1883) came to the colony with his family in 1853 as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard. He later served as a police constable at Greenough, retiring in 1868 to become landlord of the Greenough Hotel.
John Patience (1819-1870) was convict no.2. At the time of this note he had a farm at Greenough across the road from John Maley's Mill and Store.
At the time of this receipt, the Greenough Police Station was located in a building leased from Thomas Clinch.
