Promissory note from Robert Kyme

Robert Kyme (1819-1867) was convicted of highway robbery and transported to Western Australia in 1858 (No.5816). His Conditional Pardon was issued at Geraldton in 1862, and his Conditional Freedom just four months after this note was written for him. Kyme died at Greenough in 1867.
Not much is known about Charles James, other than he arrived in the colony in1853 with his family and was a farmer at Champion Bay.

Robert Kyime
As cash was scarce at Greenough, promissory notes like these were used to pay people. Kyme was illiterate, and so required someone to write this note, hence the misspelling of his surname. There are another 8 notes from Kyme in the collection.
