Robert Bell (1826-77) was a free settler who farmed at Greenough.
Thomas Mayo (1823-86) was a bricklayer convicted of burglary. He was sent to Western Australia in 1854 (no.2962).
Charles Crowther (1831-94) was a merchant in Geraldton.

This note requires more research as to why it ended up in Maley's Store at Greenough. It is an example of how these promissory notes could be transferred. As Mayo was a bricklayer, it is possible he was paid for undertaking some building work for Bell.
