GENERAL EMBROIDERY, HANGING
This wall hanging was a Group project ” in 1999 for the Guild’s 30th Anniversary exhibition “EMBROIDERY LINKS THE WORLD”. For the exhibition, each Group was asked to choose a country and for each member to stitch a piece on any aspect – architecture, flora, fauna, ecclesiastical etc. This hanging was the backdrop to the Claremont Group members’ display – a modern interpretation of embroidery in India..
The hanging consists of 24 squares, 200 x 200 mm using brightly coloured fabric and threads.
See attached names of persons associated with each square.
