'Tree f Life' from Marjorie Coleman's Exhibition August 2019.
Artwork by Marjorie Coleman, WA textile artist, who was one of the earliest members of the Guild and involved in a Group of Guild members who stitched the WA panel for the new Parliament House in Canberra.
Stitched on silk organza, the hanging, titled 'In the Light', was.one of a series of 10 'Search for the Tree of Life'. It depicts 2 birds searching an assortment of the fruits – cherries, banana, lemon, beach, nectarine.
Marjorie’s personal scroll motif is embroidered in white in the centre on the left hand side.
