Overview

Tablecloth and 6 serviettes, white coarse linen, purchased in Madeira in 1920s, shows the work done in Madeira.

Tablecloths with matching serviettes were and essential component of elegant dining at home in the 19th and early to mid-20th centuries.

2 serviettes unwashed to show the blue dye used to mark the designs.
